Vietnam former capital to show off craftsmanship

      The former Vietnamese imperial capital of Hue in the central Thua Thien–Hue province will hold a traditional crafts festival in June to promote its rich culture and traditional crafts as tourist attractions.

The festival, held for the second time after being instituted in 2005, would feature gold and silver jewellery, bronze craftwork, and woodwork, the local administration said.

Traditional handicrafts villages situated around the city will produce much of the work.

The festival will also feature artisans’ demonstrations of their crafts and offer visitors a chance to visit temples commemorating the founders of some traditional crafts.
