Tourists to Cambodia will enjoy discounts of up to 30 percent on hotel accommodation and other services, including entrance fees to the ancient temple complex of Angkor Wat, Cambodian Tourism Minister Thong Khon announced on Sunday. The announcement was made at a meeting in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang between the minister and local tourism officials, according to Kien Giang Province Youth Union website. Since December last year, Vietnamese tourists have not needed a visa to enter neighboring Cambodia. Under an agreement signed by the two countries in November, citizens of Cambodia and Vietnam are allowed to stay as a tourist for up to 14 days in the other country, as long as they hold passports that are still valid for another six months. Before the exemption came into effect, Vietnamese citizens had to pay US$20 for a visa to enter Cambodia. The number of Vietnamese visitors entering Cambodia through the Ha Tien and Moc Bai border gates reached 12,000 arrivals in the first two months of this year, the minister said. Last year, Cambodia received 2.3 million Vietnamese tourists. Source : vietnewsonline.vn
