Southern travel firm hosts record number of cruise tourists

      Saigontourist Travel Service Co. announced recently it had received 51,769 international cruise tourists over the past five months, a threefold increase compared to the figure for the same period last year.

The Ho Chi Minh city-based company, one of the three largest travel businesses in Vietnam also said it would receive 8,050 tourists on the luxurious liners – the Italian Costa Allegra, the Asian Super Star Virgo and Super Star Aquarius from May 28 – June 19.

Head of the company’s Cruise Tourism Department, Le Quang Thang added that the Costa Allergra would moor at Vietnam’s ports every 10 days beginning this November.

Most cruise-goers prefer tours to historic places, world heritage sites, or ecotourism.
