Going sightseeing by cyclo along streets is a favorite of visitors to HCMC   In the last two months of 2007, Saigontourist Travel Service (STS) should see a high increase of international tourists, especially Americans, the company announced yesterday.

In November alone, STS received three American tourist groups of more than 100 guests, traveling with Trans Viet and Trans Indochina Premium Travel Tours.

STS received almost 77,000 international tourists from January to October 2007.

European tourists had a 51 percent year-on-year increase, while American vacationers accounted for a 49 percent rise compared to last year.

The attractive investment environment in Vietnam has prompted many American investors to come visit.

The first 10 months of the year also saw 38,000 sea travelers, a 68 percent year-on-year increase, said STS.

STS has also prepared for a robust 2008, which has been officially labeled the Mekong Delta Tourism Year, by being appointed as an agent of Compagnie Fluviale du Mekong (CFM), one of Europe's most popular sea tour agencies, in September of this year.

STS's total revenue for the first 10 months of the year was VND552 billion (US$34.4 million), a 47 percent year-on-year increase.
