Vietnam resort city to host Beach Festival the third time

      Nha Trang city, one of the world’s most beautiful bays, is set to hold the Beach Festival 2007 in April next year with many activities appealing to tourists.

Khanh Hoa province announced on Tuesday the week-long festival, saying that it would be open on April 28 at Nha Trang city’s Hai Thang Tu square.

Besides decorating places around the beach with flower garlands and coloured lanterns, the city will launch a seminar on the sustainability of Nha Trang bay, festivals of fish, masquerade, beer and others.

As a new twist this year, Vietnamese performing artists will be joined with Chinese, Korean, and Ukrainian counterparts to stir up the city with music shows of rock, hip-hop, among others.

The festival has been held annually since 2005. In April, on the occasion of the Beach Festival 2006, Nha Trang received over 250,000 tourists.
