  Tourists play with monkeys on Lao Islet in Nha Phu Lagoon   A pristine lagoon north of the resort town of Nha Trang lures tourists with its diverse ecosystem.

 

 

Seen from above, Nha Phu Lagoon on the Hon Heo Peninsula is dotted with green islands and overshadowed by the Co Tien Mountain Range.

 

The lagoon, 12 kilometers from Khanh Hoa Province’s town of Nha Trang and covering some 1,500 hectares, has abundant treats for tourists.

It takes about 15 minutes to canoe from Da Chong Wharf to Lao Islet (Monkey Island) in the middle of the lagoon.

There, the water is calm, dark blue and has many beaches.

Desolate mountains and green forests are among the attractions of the island.

Visitors can see thousands of monkeys raised in a semi-wild environment.

From Lao Islet, tourists can continue boating northeast for about 15 minutes to reach Hon Heo Peninsula.

The scenery at Suoi Hoa Lan Tourist Resort harmonizes with the sea, mountains, salt-marsh forests, waterfalls, springs, lakes and the local wildlife.

Along the spring, the rocks are so large they can hold a group of people.

Phong Lan Cave displays 39 kinds of orchids.

Camping by the spring is also great fun.
